Leidenschaft!Wir kennen die Soul & Funk Bands, die nach einigen „Castings“ zusammen gesetzt wurden.Die „Sweet Vandals“ haben sich gesucht und gefunden, dieses Genre ist Ihre Leidenschaft und das wird im Sound auch belohnt – Real!Diese „Realness“ haben nur wenige Aufnahmen in den letzten Jahren erreicht, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings , Nicole Willis & the Soul Investigators und natürlich die „New Mastersounds“.Die Vandals unterscheiden sich von diesen Combos, sie verzichten auf eine Horn Section um genau das auf Platte zu bringen, wie es „Live“ umgesetzt wird!Ihre erste 7“ Single „I Got You, Man!“ (Funkorama Records) ist nach Fünf Monaten schon ein Klassiker, Keb Darge (Deep Funk Sessions, London) hat dieses Funk Monster rauf und runter gepredigt und ist damit „Magnificent“!!!Das Album wurde in den Fusion3 Studios in Madrid aufgenommen, Produzent Carlo Coupé verwendete eine Bandmaschine und ausschließlich alte gute Mikrophone & Verstärker. Also ein Equipment wie man es aus den Abbey Studios kennt und das ist auch richtig so.Das Goldstück der Band ist die authentische Stimme von Mayka Edjo, ein Traum für jeden Funk & Soul Fan, die man mit Geld nicht kaufen kann!! Also vergesst all diese MTV Superstar Sternchen die denken das Whitney Houston eine „dar seins“ Berechtigung hat!
